Being curious, willing to make mistakes, and taking risks

Guest: Michael Goehring (president and CEO of a mining association)

As the CEO of the Mining Association of British Columbia, Michael Goehring represents the entire mining and smelting industry of the province and advocates the sector’s interests to the government. This was not a role that he envisioned when he graduated high school. While travelling abroad and working in the hospitality industry, he gained an interest in politics after witnessing a revolutionary change in Turkey. This opened the door to a career in government and an executive position. “Be curious,” he says. “Nothing in the world happens without action.”
